About this song
"Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" is originally recorded by Jet. This version is arranged by Paul Murtha.
Instrumentation requirements
A strong trombone section is necessary, as they have the verse melody from measure 17 to 36.
Roadmap
The actual song starts with a tambourine solo. The band doesn't do that because no one would hear it, nor is it included in the band's arrangement.
History
This song has taken on a tradition similar to 142 - Gimme' Some Lovin', in that the band yells "NO!" whenever it is called by the conductor.
Recently members of the band have been yelling "GO!" as a pickup into measure 9 and "I said, are you gonna be my girl?" in measures 61-62 (with pickup), mirroring the actual song.
