The cheer sheets are a collection of short, easily recognizable songs meant to be played during the small breaks of play in hockey and football games. They were originally passed down to new players by ear, and were first compiled in written form by Jim Cronen in 1997. The cheer sheets were updated at the beginning of 2007 to make the existing cheers more legible and to increase the number of cheers available.
