Sousa condoms used in the past
The current sousa condoms, seen at Freakout 2006.

Over the years there have been a number of objects used to cover the bells of the sousaphones in the band. Much like billboards, the sousa condoms make use of an otherwise vacant space, and can prevent objects from being thrown into the sousaphone. They are akin to the trombone slide cover.

The current sousa condoms used by the band were purchased with part of an alumni donation prior to the start of the 2005-2006 season.
