When this many trombones gather in one place, there tend to be relativistic effects. This saxophone and its player, for instance, seem to be phasing out of existence. This may suggest a reason as to why we can never find enough of them.

The trombones are the most feared and respected section in the Pep Band, and as such are given one row of DMZ for slide room at football and women's hockey games (though at men's hockey games the trumpets are given no such luxury...). Trombones are also responsible for traditions like Kickoff.
