The University of Maine Black Bears were members of the ECAC from 1979-1980 season until they left following the 1983-1984 season to become a member of the Hockey East conference.
While they play most of their games at Alfond Arena on their campus in Orono, the Black Bears also traditionally play at least one game every year in Portland.
