About the song
This is the national anthem of the United States. The band plays it prior to the start of all football and hockey games. It is almost always followed by Dr. Who.
Lyrics
- O say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
- What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
- Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight
- O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
- And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air
- Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
- O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
- O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
History
For the 2006-2007 season, the managers put the arrangements of O Canada and the Star-Spangled Banner the band plays (this arrangement) onto the same sheet.
