:I think you might be right. These are the infamous [[Freakout horn]]s. They resulted in an NCAA rule prohibiting the distribution of "artificial noisemakers" as promotional items. Each fan was only given one, thus creating the argument that one "boom stick" can only create the equivalent sound of one hand clapping. This is, of course, feeble at best.
