About this cheer
This cheer is based off of the fourth part of the overture to the opera Guillaume Tell, composed by Gioacchino Rossini. It was also used as the theme for the TV show The Lone Ranger.

The more there are, the better.
History
This cheer was added to the cheer sheets in January 2007, when the cheer sheets were rewritten to add songs and make the print more legible. Prior to 2007, this song was found in the trumpet cheer sheet, a page separate from the rest of the cheers.
William Tell was removed from the cheer sheets in 2014.
William Tell was re-added to the cheer sheets in 2015.
The cheer was extended to include the more iconic part of the piece in the 2023 cheer sheet update.
