Go Be Red

Go Be Red was a school spirit competition which took place during the 2005-06 season. The grand prize was a Spring Break trip, with prizes for second and third places being gift certificates to Best Buy. The competition was won by the Banana Slug Muffins (which included sometimes band member Carlos Perea). The band also had members on the second and third place teams; Neil Havlak of the second place Team Ramrod and Andrew Bickford of the third place Straight Scrallions.
Following the end of the competition, those who had organized and participating in it decided to create the Red Army as an attempt to foster school spirit without the competition element which had existed in Go Be Red.
