The University of Alaska Fairbanks is home to the Nanooks. Carlson Center is one of the only Olympic-sized ice hockey rinks in North America.
RPI is scheduled to compete there in the 2009 Alaska Gold Rush, on October 16th and 17th. This will be the second furthest RPI has ever played from Troy, second only to University of Alaska Anchorage. Estimated driving time is over 72 hours nonstop.
