I've searched for it in the past wihtout success. I hope some one else (who is more skilled at these kinds of searches) can succeed in the search for that article. It's a noble effort. Unfortunately, SI doesn't seem to want to make it easy for us to search their archives. I think I even remember emailing them but never got a reply. Rockchops 14:12, March 11, 2007 (EDT)

I've been looking through old SI magazines at the library in my free time. As of now, I've thumbed through all of the articles from 7/83-6/84. Overall, the archive is mostly complete (<5 pages missing total), and the only mention of college hockey at all is one picture with caption of Bowling Green winning the NCAA finals. I didn't read every word, but I didn't catch any mention of the ECAC at all. This might be something to badger the alumni who were there with. HLPXX 16:43, October 12, 2007 (EDT)

Update on the hunt for the elusive "America's Pep Band" SI article. I've stumbled upon the following online SI archive. It may be new since I didn't find it last time I was hunting for the storied article. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/home/m/1/index.htm This website currently loads extremely slow for me.
