The University of Alaska Fairbanks is home to the Nanooks. Carlson Center is one of the only Olympic-sized ice hockey rinks in North America.
RPI played there during the 2009 Alaska Gold Rush, on October 16-17, 2009. This was the second furthest RPI has ever played from Troy, with only to University of Alaska Anchorage being further away. Estimated driving time is over 72 hours nonstop.
