Category talk:Active Songs (1996-2003)

Before this category gets fleshed out, we should figure out when the last major overhaul of the active set was before Charlie's overhaul in 2003 and put that year into the question marks in the category name. Bickfa 18:37, May 17, 2007 (EDT)

IIRC, the summer I shared an apartment with Mike Brown he said that after his year as conductor, he did the major overhaul to the library to set up the current system. That included: assigning many of the current song numbers (resulting in odditties such as all those opposing alma maters from 1930s having song numbers in the 300's), replacing lost parts in the originals folders, setting up the "librarian's originals" box/folders and "librarian's sets", and building a new active set to match all of it. As far as I know, there wasn't a major overhaul to the active set between then and mine - just that most (if not all) new songs were added to the end of it. TrekMuse 11:09, May 21, 2007 (EDT)

That was what I understood from what he told me. The set basically stopped at either 431, 432, or 433. 431 was the last song Vicky ordered and it was in the set for that year. 432 I brought in during Vicky's year because people were asking for Christmas/Holiday music other than 55 and Frosty, but I don't recall it making it to the set or rehearsals until the following year. 433 we got from Colgate on the overnight road trip that year - but we only had copies of it for something like 2 months so it never made it much past the opening being used as a cheer. The real question is. Does anyone still have a separate copy of this? I know Mike and I got rid of the librarian's originals after that overhaul so that copies couldn't be made of the wrong set. During a move in or out of the dorms, my two sets got mixed together and eventually just merged. I can probably backtrack, but it would be easier to just use a copy of the older set. I believe that the column labeled "Old Set?" here is the set before the one that you made in 2003 (it certainly doesn't seem to line up with the members of Category:Active Songs (2003-2006)). Bickfa 12:52, May 21, 2007 (EDT)

Wow! Now that's a lucky find. The one you're referring to is definitely the one prior to my work because off the top of my head, I know I removed F Troop and I know I added Colonel Bogey. Was anything actually in the ????-2003 category? I thought there was, but I think that by deleting the category, it automatically removed the category code from all of the pages in it... So, someone's going to have to code them again. James 12:18, May 23, 2007 (EDT)

There was one page in the ????-2003 category (19 - The Horse), but I changed the code for it shortly after I made the 1996-2003 category. Bickfa 00:29, May 24, 2007 (EDT)
