The air horn is located in the roof of the Houston Field House. After the men's hockey team scores a goal, the horn is sounded.
At current, the horn is not sounded at women's games, where some fans have taken to bringing portable air horns with them to make a similar noise when the team scores.
The notes of the air horn were determined by Will Schmarder to be Concert C, Eb, and G. Although there are three horns, only Concert C and Concert Eb are easily heard today.
