These are the traditions that are done by (or to) the conductor.
Items Passed from Conductor to Conductor
There are several items which are passed from one conductor to the next. These items include:
Selecting Guest Conductors
It is traditional on big game nights such as Freakout and Pep Band Alumni Night (PBAN) for the conductor to open up the period breaks for former conductors to "guest conduct" the band for the song of their choosing. On the biggest nights like Freakout it is common for there to be a different conductor for each song between the periods.
Senior Night
On Senior Night it is traditional for the conductor to take song requests from the senior members of the band to play during the period breaks.
Toll Booth Song Line
On the first road trip of the spring semester each year, a line is added to the Toll Booth Song to commemorate that year's conductor.
