I'm Chris Behrens PHYS '07, I play alto sax (and sometimes other things) in the pep band. You can get a hold of me by RPI email or on AIM (CnoTe946).
To Do
Arranging:
- Re-arranging 161 Freeze-Frame: There are a lot of errors to the original, balance is off in the arrangement, and there are no parts for tenor drum, glockenspiel, or auxiliary percussion. Since most of the work was done by Michael Steele, I should have this finished in two week's time.
- I Got You (I Feel Good): Just don't have time for this right now.
- Come On Eileen: Someday, but probably not this semester.
- China Grove: En queue.
- September: En queue.
- My Generation: En queue.
Organize unnamed 2008 ECAC Championship pep band event.
STATUS:
- Proposal okayed by Times Union Center manager Bob Belber (8/9/2007).
- Proposal given conditional approval from ECAC Commisioner Steve Hagwell (8/9/2007).
- Condition: 5 rooms are being reserved in the Union for the nights of March 21 and 22, 2008 (9/14/2007).
- Email sent to all ECAC pep bands to gauge interest across the league (8/28/2007).
- RPI has shown interest in this event (obviously)(3/18/2007).
- Quinnipiac has shown interest in this event, but has administrative problems preventing them from going (8/28/2007).
- Condition: Approval of Quinnipiac Athletic Department.
- Quinnipiac AD Jack McDonald approves of the band going to this event, waiting to hear from Assistant Director of Promotions Steve Colvin (the guy who oversees their pep band, and currently the barrier for Quinnipiac participating) (9/22/2007)
- Steve Colvin referred me to Edward Adams, the new Pep Band Director. More to follow once he's assigned a Quinnipiac email (10/23/2007)
- Quinnipiac will not be participating in this event, as they won't have a drummer or a particularly large number of people attending. (11/7/2007)

- Yale has shown interest in this event (9/13/2007).
- Clarkson is not interested in this event, citing only that it would be "unethical for bands who are not in the Championship Tournament to be present there" (9/17/2007).
- Brown has shown interest in this event, but has said that they likely will not participate because it lies during their Spring Break (9/18/2007).
- Still waiting to hear from Dartmouth, Harvard, and Princeton.
- Follow up emails sent to the above bands (10/23/2007)
- Restructuring idea for fan festival to accomodate the fact that many schools will have spring break at this time, and that it is Easter weekend. Any ideas anyone has are more than welcome, please post them on my talk page if you do. (11/8/2007)

- Cup Band: My reasoning behind this is that apparently we used to get along with them, so they might be a good bunch. We'll just likely never get the chance to find out.
